MATHS

WHO IS THIS FOR:

GCSE Maths Tuition

Every GCSE Maths lesson is taught one-to-one by an experienced GCSE Examiner, Lead Examiner or Team Leader.

Our students work with specialists who understand not only the subject, but exactly how GCSE Mathematics is assessed. They know where marks are commonly lost, which methods need to be shown clearly and what students need to demonstrate at different grade levels.

One-to-One Tuition with GCSE Maths Examiners

All of our GCSE Maths tuition is one-to-one.

Lessons are tailored to the individual student, their examination board, current attainment and target grade. This allows our tutors to focus immediately on the areas that will make the greatest difference.

Our examiners can distinguish between a simple error and a deeper gap in mathematical understanding, so students are not taken through a generic programme.

Diagnostic Assessment

We begin by identifying the student’s strengths, gaps and recurring errors.

Where appropriate, we use skills checkers and review previously completed mock examinations, school assessments and past-paper work.

Our tutors look beyond the final mark. They analyse how the student approached each question, where methods broke down and whether marks were lost because of gaps in knowledge, inaccurate working, weak problem solving or misunderstanding of the question.

This allows tuition to be targeted from the outset.

Foundation and Higher GCSE Maths

We support students preparing for both Foundation and Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics.

For Foundation students, tuition may focus on securing core knowledge, correcting misconceptions and improving accuracy and confidence.

For Higher Tier students, lessons can place greater emphasis on complex algebra, mathematical reasoning, multi-stage problems and the precision required for Grades 8 and 9.

Examiner Insight and Examination Technique

Having assessed large numbers of examination responses, our tutors recognise the mistakes students make repeatedly and the approaches that lead to stronger answers.

Students learn how to interpret questions accurately, select efficient methods, show working clearly and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems.

Examination technique is integrated into the teaching rather than treated as a separate skill.

Precise Feedback and Targeted Practice

One of the greatest advantages of working with a GCSE Maths examiner is the quality of the feedback.

Our tutors can identify exactly why marks are being lost and then target the underlying issue.

Practice is focused and purposeful, helping students improve both their mathematical understanding and their examination performance.

Whether a student is working towards a secure pass or aiming for Grades 8 and 9, every GCSE Maths lesson is one-to-one, targeted and informed by genuine examination expertise.

Further Maths and Statistics

We can also provide specialist one-to-one support for students studying GCSE Further Mathematics or GCSE Statistics, where required.
