Key Stage Three Maths Tuition

Key Stage Three Maths can move very quickly. A child who was comfortable at primary school can suddenly find themselves working with new methods, faster pacing and less individual attention. If there are gaps from KS2, they can become much more noticeable once algebra, ratio, equations and more complex problem solving are introduced.

Our one-to-one Maths tuition gives your child the chance to slow things down, strengthen the foundations and build confidence before small difficulties become established.

Who Is This For?

This support is ideal if your child has started to lose confidence, is struggling with a particular area of Maths, needs to consolidate KS2 knowledge or is hoping to move into a higher set at school.

We begin by identifying what is secure and where the gaps are. This may include number skills, fractions, percentages, ratio, algebra, geometry or problem solving.

Because every lesson is one-to-one, your child does not have to keep pace with a whole class. The tutor can revisit a method, explain it differently and make sure it is genuinely understood before moving on.

Building Strong Foundations

At Key Stage Three, confidence often comes from finally understanding the areas that have previously felt unclear.

Our tutors help children develop stronger mathematical fluency, more accurate working and a clearer understanding of why methods work, rather than simply memorising steps.

As they progress, we introduce the reasoning and multi-step problem-solving skills that will become increasingly important at GCSE.

The aim is not to rush children into GCSE content too early, but to make sure the Key Stage Three years are used properly and that the foundations are secure before the pressure of Years 10 and 11 begins.

Flexible Support Around School

Not every child needs weekly Maths tuition indefinitely.

Some families choose a focused half-term block to address a particular weakness or rebuild confidence. Others prefer fortnightly lessons, sometimes alternating Maths with English or Science.
