MEET REBECCA
I’m Rebecca Ashcroft, a fully qualified teacher with over 16 years’ experience in education including senior leadership roles as Assistant Headteacher and Head of English in secondary schools across the Lancaster area. I’ve led departments, trained and coached teachers, and worked with students at every level, from early readers to high-achieving A Level candidates. Along the way, I’ve gained the NPQLL (Leading Literacy) and was awarded SLE (Specialist Leader in Education) for my work improving English teaching across schools.
But while I’m proud of those achievements, the heart of my work has always been simple: helping young people feel calm, confident, and capable - especially when they’ve started to doubt themselves.

Why I Started
Ashcroft
Tutoring Agency?
I created Ashcroft Tutoring Agency as a place where learning feels personal and supportive, where every child is truly seen, and where progress is built through kindness and trust.
I tutor English myself, specialising in 11+ preparation, GCSEs, and A Levels, and I lead a small, handpicked team of tutors who share the same thoughtful, values-led approach. This isn’t a large agency — every family is supported directly by me, and every child is known.

Kindness. Openness.
With Results.
My teaching is shaped by three core values: Kindness. Openness. With Results.
- Sessions are clear, consistent, and tailored to each individual.
- Support ranges from helping students catch up, to stretching the most able, to rebuilding confidence after a setback.
- Families receive honest, compassionate feedback after every session so parents always feel informed, involved, and reassured.
I’ve helped hundreds of students reach their academic goals in English but more importantly, I’ve helped them believe they can.
