WHO IS THIS FOR:
GCSE English Tuition
Every GCSE English lesson is taught one-to-one by an experienced GCSE Examiner. Our teaching team includes Lead Examiners and Team Leaders, giving students access to specialists with first-hand knowledge of how GCSE English is assessed.
We provide individual GCSE English tuition in both English Language and English Literature, with every session focused entirely on the needs of the individual student.
One-to-One GCSE English Tuition
This allows the tutor to concentrate entirely on one student: their strengths, the areas they need to develop and the aspects of the examination that require the greatest attention.
For some students, the priority may be developing confidence and securing the fundamentals. For others, it may be refining sophisticated analysis, improving the precision of written responses or developing the control needed for the highest grades.
One-to-one tuition means that lesson time can be used where it will have the greatest impact.
Why a GCSE English Examiner?

Their examining experience gives students a valuable insight into how responses are assessed, where marks are gained and lost, and what distinguishes stronger answers.
Students are not simply told to “analyse more” or “add more detail”. Our tutors can identify what is limiting a response and explain specifically how it can be improved.
This helps students develop a much clearer understanding of what is expected of them in the examination.

Examiner-Level Feedback
Detailed feedback is an important part of our GCSE English tuition.
Our examiners can identify why a response is currently reaching a particular level and explain what the student needs to change in order to improve it.
This might involve developing an interpretation further, analysing evidence more precisely, improving the structure of an argument or making writing more controlled and effective.
The aim is for students not only to improve individual pieces of work, but also to understand how to recognise and correct weaknesses in their own writing.
